Dontaku Ramen Japanese Restaurant at 1 Utama

Hi everyone. =)

Today's review is Dontaku at 1 Utama.

It started where a bunch of us wondered around 1U without any idea what to have for dinner. The thing about 1U is that its variety of restaurants make it difficult to decide 'what to eat'.

After walking around for a while, Dontaku's menu which was displayed at the entrance seemed nice so we decided to go ahead with it.

Their 1U outlet.

I like the interior of it, looks nice and comfy.

There are a lot of plates and bowls on the wall as decorations. Special huh.

The menu for groups of 2 or 4.

Their ramen looks yummy. Sluurrpp...

The price for the set meals seems reasonable as well.

Seafood teppan yaki, pork steak, yumm~

Volcano roll looks tempting!

My Tonkotsu Hanchan set, RM22. It's pork, yeah!

The garlic fried rice seemed like it was ready cooked, not warm enough. The mee was okay but the soup was a bit salty. The dumplings were okay only. I only like the egg haha.

This is Saba Salmon set, RM22. The tempura prawn and vegetables look delicious.

This is Chicken Teriyaki set, RM18. Chicken was nice, meat was tender.

Overall, the food was quite okay. Price was reasonable. A nice place to dine in. You can try it out if you happen to be at 1U and have difficulties in choosing a place for lunch or dinner.

Sae Ma Eul - Korean Bbq at PV128, Setapak

Hi everyone. =)

Today's review Sae Ma Eul -Korean Bbq.

I feel like once I have Korean food, I will be craving for it again and again. Probably because of its sauce which is sweet and spicy, I love it (I don't like those that are too spicy).

This is their PV128 outlet.

It's usually very crowded during the weekends.

Lunch menu.

Dinner and Bbq menu. The price is quite reasonable compared to others that are overpriced.

I like that they use charcoal instead of electrical griller. I know that charcoal is bad but once in a while should be fine.

Their side dishes are refillable and you can take as much as you want (I love it). There is a counter at the left hand side where the side dishes are.

Just like other Korean restaurants, water is free and refillable.

We ordered Jjuggumi (baby octopus), RM23.00 (4 pieces).

Spicy!! I feel that the texture and taste of this baby octopus and sotong (squid) are quite alike.

The rice is RM5 per bowl, quite expensive.

This is Galmaegi sal (pork skirt meat), RM23. I'm not sure this is from which part. We asked the waiter about it but couldn't understand his explanation.

Nevertheless, it tastes yummy! It remains juicy and soft even though we bbq it for quite a while.

*Recommend you all to try this.

This is the outcome. Look quite dark eh? No idea why. We didn't add any dark soy sauce or what, only cut it into small pieces.

This is Sam gyeop sal (sliced pork belly), RM19.

I wonder why the pork belly turns out to be very hard and dry every time. Whether it's the waiter who bbq it for us or we bbq it ourselves, the outcome is the same.

I think we put too much oil and the fire was getting big. There was a lot of smoke and the waitress just changed our wire gauze without asking.

She was also very rude. She swept all of our meat onto another wire gauze and caused one of it to drop on the table. Tsk, tsk, tsk...

In the end, we had to use this thing to grill (no idea what is this called).

The pork belly looks like this when it's done.

A good place for those who crave for Korean bbq but look for reasonably priced ones. They don't have any service or government tax as well.

They have plenty of seats so you won't be waiting too long even if you go on weekends.

Meet Fresh at Pavilion KL

Hi everyone. =)

Today's review is Meet Fresh. They have taro balls, grass jelly, shave ice, toufu pudding and desserts that are similar to Snowflake.

This is their kiosk like outlet at Pavilion.

This is Mango Shave Ice, RM9.80.

Quite big in size. We couldn't finish it even though 2 persons were sharing.

I love the mango. Yummy, sweet and juicy!

This is their special Q Moci, RM8.90.

I feel that their moci were tasteless. It depended on the flavour of the coconut syrup and coconut shredding (I believe it was coconut as it tasted like it). Nice coconut fragrant though.

This is Toufu pudding with taro balls, RM 5.50.

I was hoping for yummy and Q taro balls but their taro balls can't beat Snowflake's ones. Snowflake's taro balls still the best.

Overall it was okay, it's been a while since I had toufu pudding. I miss it.

That's all for today. I hope I can try out their other desserts and drinks next time.

*Besides desserts, they have food as well, like oyster mee suah. Go check it out.
