Snow Factory at Avenue K

Hi everyone. =)

I'm always a fan of yogurt ice-cream and I'm easily tempted by it.

Yogurt fans like me would like this review about Snow Factory.

This is how their Avenue K outlet looks like.

I ordered 2 flavours. This is Mulberry, RM10.80 (per scoop for paper cup). It's quite sour as expected but there are bits and pieces of berries in the ice-cream. I like that.

This is Madagascar bourbon vanilla, RM12.80 (add RM2 for waffle cup). This one tastes ordinary, nothing special. No idea why Madagascar but I was expecting a strong Bourbon taste; can't seem to taste any.

Though their yogurt ice-cream is not cheap, the berry series is worth trying. The berry taste is stronger compared to other flavours. So far, I noticed that they have strawberry and mulberry flavours.

Plus points: the yogurt ice-cream is creamy and smooth.

Cupcake Chic at Avenue K

Anyone loves cakes? I surely do.

I like the icing on the cupcakes very much! Fall in love with icing ever since I first tried it when I was in primary school.

Apparently, Cupcake Chic's outlet at The Curve is quite famous. I think they used to have outlets in Sunway Pyramid and Ampang Point but for now, The Curve and Avenue K are the only 2 outlets around KL and another outlet at KKIA.

This is how their Avenue K outlet looks like. It's really small plus there are no seats at all. I was expecting some nice environment where people can enjoy their cupcakes and macarons. A bit disappointed with that.

So I went with Groupon's cash vouchers (yes again haha). RM20 cash voucher for RM10 only but this time I bought 2 vouchers haha (I know I need more cupcakes).

4 cupcakes cost RM22 (RM5.50 each), 5 macarons cost RM20 (RM4 each). So I added another RM2 as the total was RM42 (excluding the drink).

Cupcakes were really yummy. I ordered red velvet and something chocolate, my friend ordered peach and mint (She liked the peach one very much, the one with almonds on. She said it was the nicest peach cupcake that she ever had).

The icing was creamy and sweet, the chocolate flavoured cake was a bit crunchy and I liked that (unlike some cupcakes it's just plain).

For the macarons, there were 2 green tea, 1 earl grey, 1 coconut, and 1 black sesame. Coconut one was nice but I like the black sesame one, rich sesame taste.

However, I feel that both the cupcakes and macarons are a bit expensive because I can get nicer macarons with the same price or with even lower price.

Why do I say that? It's because the macarons are not very big in size and the filling didn't reach the edge of the shells. When I eat or buy macarons, I look at its filling first. The filling should be as thick as the size of the shell, reach the edge of the shells, and it's even.

This is how it should be, just like the picture. www.TheMacaronMaster.com

Another thing is that my friend and I had to use the bench that was placed at the corridor (because they don't have any seats). It felt weird as people who passed by look at us while we were eating.

Unless you can't wait to taste it, I suggest you to take away and enjoy it at home or what. Anyway, their cupcakes are nice, worth a try if you are a cake lover.

New Sushi Zanmai Outlet at Avenue K

Today's review is my favourite Japanese restaurant - Sushi Zanmai!

Yes, yes, I really love Sushi Zanmai. One of the reasons is that I don't have to choose between wanting to enjoy good food and save money.

I guess it's a lot of people's favourite as well because it's cheap and yummy. I'm very excited and happy that they have a new outlet at Avenue K!

To get there, just take the lrt (putra/kelana jaya line) to KLCC station, exit left, go to Mezzanine-19 and there it is.

Now let's skip to the pictures of wholesome goodness. =)

This is the look of it. I get this picture from their official Facebook page.

I ordered Yakisoba, RM8.80.

To celebrate their 7th anniversary, they serve some special dishes which are only available on the dates stated.

This sakura prawn looked tempting, so I ordered it (I love prawns!). It's basically fried sakura prawns and crab filament and rice.

Cheap no? XD

It looks just like the image shown. Satisfied with the look and the taste as well. Sakura prawn is definitely the star. It makes the whole sushi taste superb!

I ordered this as well. It's available until 29th May so if you wanna try this, get to Sushi Zamai soon.

It's fried ebi (prawn) and baby octopus and rice. The sauce for this dish is quite special. It's a blend of sourness and sweetness, and it's nice.

This is smoked salmon, RM 6.80, salmon mentai RM6.80 and Inari Ika Mentai, RM4.80 (cuttlefish).

This is their location.

I expected it to be quite empty and I could save the time queuing up for a seat (as it's a new outlet) but it turned out to have a long queue during dinner time too. So go there earlier if you want to skip the waiting.
