China Town Dessert 糖仁街甜品屋 at Pandan Indah

Hi everyone. =)

Today's review is DESSERTS! My favourite!

This China Town Dessert sells mainly Chinese style desserts like dates tea, red bean/green bean soup, black glutinous rice soup, toufu fa, glutinous rice balls (tang yuan) and many more.

This is their Pandan Indah shop.

When we reached around 9 something, it was only 2 tables including us. However, when we were about to leave, the shop was almost full with customers.

I guess it's a popular spot for 'night owls'.

The menu. They have hot and cold desserts. A nice place for family occasions and also friends gathering.

Besides desserts, they serve food as well.

Slurpss! Let the feast begin!

My favourite black glutinous rice with toufu fa (soy pudding), RM5.80. Toufu fa quite smooth. I like it.

First time trying toufu fa with black glutinous rice. Usually it's just toufu fa with syrup.

It would be nicer if they add some coconut milk. Coconut milk and black glutinous rice soup are the best combination.

Strawberry mango sago pomelo with mango pudding, RM7.80.

Mango is sweet, ripe enough and the mango taste is strong as well. Mango lovers will love it.

I love mango! Mango puree and mango pudding = heaven!

This is sesame snow skin (red bean), RM4.20. This dessert is very special. We were all attracted by the appearance of it on the menu.

The taste of the red bean is very strong and the sesame on the outer later smells nice too.

It's a bit like the mooncake which has red bean paste in it but it also tastes like ang gu kueh.

Must try this!

Sea coconut with gui ling gao (turtle/tortoise jelly).

Glutinous rice balls in ginger soup, RM6.00. The ginger taste is wayyy too strong but the glutinous balls have yummy sesame filing.

This is Chinese leek pancake, RM4.20.

It's nice and crispy but there is a piece that is a bit burned. Other than that, it's quite nice to me as I like its crispiness.

Snow Factory at Avenue K

Hi everyone. =)

I'm always a fan of yogurt ice-cream and I'm easily tempted by it.

Yogurt fans like me would like this review about Snow Factory.

This is how their Avenue K outlet looks like.

I ordered 2 flavours. This is Mulberry, RM10.80 (per scoop for paper cup). It's quite sour as expected but there are bits and pieces of berries in the ice-cream. I like that.

This is Madagascar bourbon vanilla, RM12.80 (add RM2 for waffle cup). This one tastes ordinary, nothing special. No idea why Madagascar but I was expecting a strong Bourbon taste; can't seem to taste any.

Though their yogurt ice-cream is not cheap, the berry series is worth trying. The berry taste is stronger compared to other flavours. So far, I noticed that they have strawberry and mulberry flavours.

Plus points: the yogurt ice-cream is creamy and smooth.

Spring Onion Pancake Recipe 葱油饼

Hi everyone. =)

I'm gonna share a simple yet delicious Chinese pancake aka spring onion pancake recipe.

Ingredients: Chopped spring onions, flour, and water
Seasoning: salt
Portion: 1 person

You only need 4 things for this. Simple isn't it?

Firstly, place 8 spoons of all purpose flour (normal flour) in a bowl.

I measured it using this kind of spoon (normal dining spoon). The amount of flour doesn't need to be precise as it depends on how thick you want your pancake to be.

If the flour is more than the water, then the pancake will be thicker or vice versa.

Prepare 200ml water.

Mix the water with the flour.

After it is well combined, add in the chopped spring onions.

Mix well. There shouldn't be any lumps in your batter. If there is, continue mixing it. The batter should be watery like.

Don't forgot to add some salt.

Add some oil in a non stick pan.

Pour some of the batter to the pan. I didn't measure it with any tools, just pour accordingly.

If you wanna make bigger ones, pour more batter, or else pour lesser.

You know it's ready to be flipped when the pancake becomes a bit transparent in colour,

Press it with the turner so that it is flat enough. This is a crucial step if you want it to be thin and crispy.

2nd piece. You can also tell that it's ready to be flipped when the sides of it browned like this one.

I like my pancakes to be thin and crispy. This one is perfection!

Unlike Western style pancake which is thick and fluffy, I personally think that Chinese pancake should be very thin so that it's crispy.

Ta-da! Completed ones. This recipe makes 4 pancakes. Double up your ingredients if you wanna make more.

That's it. Hope you like it and enjoy.

Vietnamese Fusion Sandwiches at Quick Bites

Hi everyone. =)

Today's review is Quick Bites at Pavilion, KL.

I went to try this with my colleague today as we bought a Groupon voucher. It's RM15 for 2 sets without drinks (either bread or noodles). Each set is RM7.50 only.

According to my colleague, the one that she tried in Vietnam was nice and very cheap. The most expensive price would be RM3.50 only. So I decided to give it a try.

Their menu. It's like the Vietnamese Subway.

Their Vietnamese original baguette costs RM2 each.

They have spring rolls (with shrimp) too, you can try it out. I was tempted to try it (yes because of the shrimp, I love shrimp).

After you order, the workers will prepare your sandwich here.

Look at the size and the filing.

This is QB super combo (classic chicken, egg, pate), normal price is RM12.50 each. They will cut it into half for you so it's convenient to eat.

I was already full after eating half of it. So I think 2 people can actually share this if you don't have a big appetite.

A super filing lunch. Worth my RM7.50 considering the size of it.

The bread was very crunchy too and I like it!

Komugi at Tokyo Street Pavilion

I've wanted to try Komugi's cake and bread but the shop gave me that 'very expensive' look which stopped me from walking into it (especially the one at Mid Valley).

I finally get to try it as their Pavilion outlet which displays a lot of delicious cakes and bread tempted me (Yes, I can't resist the temptation of food).

Their food and drinks menu.

It's a bit expensive but still affordable.

I ordered fuwa-fuwa custard cream (left) and cookie cream puff (right).

This is how the filling of fuwa-fuwa custard cream looks like.

I'm a huge fan of custard cream but this custard cream bun disappoints me. It tastes weird. I don't know how to describe the taste. It doesn't have that rich and creamy flavour that custard cream usually has.

I love cream puff too but this one tastes so so only. The cream is a lot but it's tasteless to me (my brother said not nice too).

However, I discovered some cute looking bread. I was surprised to find out that they have these kinds of bread. It's my first time seeing it (maybe I'm too outdated haha).

Aren't these apple buns cute? An apple a day keeps the doctor away. =D

This mango delight bun looks nice too. Will try it next time.

This honey pumpkin is the cutest. Looking so mini and cute.

Daorae Korean Bbq Restaurant at Desa Sri Hartamas

Hi everyone.

I searched online for some famous Korean restaurants the other day and it turned out that Daorae is in the list. So my friend and I decided to give it a try.

We decided to go to to this outlet since it's their hq and this is how it looks like.

I couldn't remember this is Mok-Sal (fresh neck shoulder pork) or Sam-kyub-sal (pork belly) but each set is RM30.

The side dishes are refillable and I like their Kimchi. It's one of the few Kimchi that I like and will wanna have more. Normally, some kimchi are too spicy or too sour, which I don't like. This is just nice.

We wanted to order 1 set of meat for bbq only but the minimum order for bbq is 2 sets so it's a bit too much for 2 girls.

If you wanna try their bbq, I suggest you go in a group around 3-4 persons. It will be cheaper if you are sharing it and you can also get to try their other dishes.

As for us, it was quite sad that we couldn't try their kimchi jigae or fried glass noodles as we wouldn't be able to finish it. =(

The pork meat is not as nice as I imagined. It  is a bit hard, not the soft and juicy type but overall still yummy.

This is marinated chicken, RM30 per set as well. Surprisingly, the chicken is much nicer than the pork, very juicy and soft. The marinates is just nice. I like this.

Yummylicious! Recommend this.

We chose the tatami but I don't really like the part that I have to take off my shoes. I feel that it's quite disgusting to walk pass those piles of shoes (it's just me).

Apparently, there were some famous artists who visited their restaurant. I saw PSY, Running Man's Kim Jong Kook and many more in the pictures displayed.

They have a few outlets so feel free to visit their nearby outlets.

Miniature House

I like miniature stuffs and things. There is something about its tininess that fascinates me. I guess because it looks cute haha.

That day, while I was at Avenue K's Popular, I stumbled upon some miniature houses and I can't stop myself from adoring it.

Here's some pictures of the completed ones.

 RM110? Too expensive. T.T

Nice isn't it? However, even the cheapest one costs RM60... T.T

I wish that I can use my book vouchers to buy it (I really wish haha).

No worries. I will collect you all one day and display it at my living room. Those who are interested can check it out at Avenue K's Popular, level 2, 18 & 19.
